I found this video by The Open University on YouTube. It is awesome and hilarious. Me and Christian recently got into a conversation about the origin of English and this video is awesome!

I studied the history of the English Language in university. It certainly was not explained in the same entertaining way. Gotta love it.

Hilarious! Also very timely and actually quite factual as I just finished rereading “The Story of English” (a companion book to a PBS series by the same name). Just think, I could have saved myself hours of reading

Awesome! I’m glad you liked it! It is an interesting topic and they do such a great job of presenting it in an entertaining way. I actual want to read that book now! I love PBS stuff like the Ken Burns Documentaries… I think i’m going to buy it off of amazon. is the PBS series on it good as well?
Near as I remember, the PBS series was excellent, but they ran it back in 1986. Not sure it’s still available, or not. The companion book, of course, gave a whole lot more detail. I figured it to be worth another read because I love the history of our language.
It’s like the two hour long lectures I heard in Medieval Lit except in ten minutes…!
